The world is interesting too

by Kelvin Smith

Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz) is a senior editor at Outspan Publishers, which has little to do with the plot of David Hare’s Page Eight. It does, however, mean that towards the end of the MI5 themed movie she can say this to Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) when he asks what she is doing.

“Looking for the next great novel. They don’t seem to realise that feelings are interesting, but the world is interesting too.”

Like so many real publishers perhaps this fictional publisher would rather be a spy, or at least sometimes she will pretend to be one.
